EGGNew York, Aug 13: Having a high-protein breakfast together with milk, eggs, meat and yoghurt daily will scale back unhealthy weigh gain among overweight teenagers, says a brand new study.

The researchers compared the advantages of intense a normal-protein breakfast to a high-protein breakfast in overweight teenagers who would commonly skip breakfast.

“This study examined if the sort of breakfast consumed will improve weight management in teenagers who routinely skip breakfast,” said lead author of the study Heather Leidy, prof at University of Missouri within the US.

High-protein breakfast – that contained thirty five grams of protein – prevented gains of body fat, reduced daily food intake and feelings of hunger, and stable glucose levels, the findings showed.

The key to feeding thirty five grams of protein is to consume a mix of high-quality proteins together with milk, eggs, lean meats and Greek yoghurt, Leidy noted.

For the study, the researchers fed 2 teams of overweight teenagers who reported  skipping breakfast between 5 and 7 times a week either normal-protein breakfast meals or high-protein breakfast meals.

A third cluster of teenagers continuing to skip breakfast for twelve weeks.

The normal-protein breakfast meal was milk and cereal and contained thirteen grams of protein. The high-protein breakfast meals contained thirty five grams of protein.

“These results show that once people eat a high-protein breakfast, they voluntarily consume less food the remainder of the day. Additionally, teenagers who ate high-protein breakfast had a lot of stable glucose levels than the opposite teams,” Leidy noted.

Large fluctuations in glucose levels are related to an raised risk of kind two diabetes among teenagers, which may create health complications related to weight gain a lot of intense.
