SKJammu, July 30: An Indian soldier was killed in targeted marksman fire by the Pakistan Army in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district, army sources aforesaid on Thursday.

“A soldier was killed in ceasefire violation by Pakistan troops in Krishna Ghati sector of the LoC yesterday (Wednesday),” a defence supply told.

Sepoy Rachpal Singh, who belonged to the twenty two Sikh unit, was guarding a post at the line of control once he was shot at by a crack shot from the opposite aspect of the border. He was critically injured  and died later.

Ceasefire violations are rampant on the LoC, changing into a bone of competition between India and Pakistan that recently saw talks at Ufa between the prime ministers of the 2 countries.

On Wednesday, the Pakistan Army profaned the ceasefire doubly in Machil sector of Kupwara district within the vale.

This is not the primary incident of a targeted crack shot shot at Indian troopers by Pakistan.

Earlier this month, Krishna Kumar Dubey, a constable within the BSF, denote in Karam post in Uri space of Baramulla sector, was hit in his right eye by a bullet from across the border.
