RAIN-RKolkata, July 30: Serious rain may occur at isolated places in West Bengal, with Depression shaped over the Bay of Bengal intensifying  into a cyclone, the met department aforesaid on Thursday.

“The depression over Bay of Bengal, that stirred northwestwards throughout the last 9 hours, has intense into a cyclonic storm ‘Komen’ and lay centred at regarding three hundred km within the east-southeast of Kolkata,” the met department said.

“The system would cross Bangladesh coast by afternoon these days (Thursday). The cyclonic storm, when its landfall, would move west-northwestwards and weaken gradually.”

The Met workplace said as a results of the cyclonic storm, serious rain (724 cm) might occur at isolated places in West Bengal over successive seventy two hours.

Heavy rains have also been foreseen at isolated places in Bihar, and Darjeeling and Jalpaiguri districts of sub-Himalayan West Bengal.

Fishermen are warned to not venture near the West Bengal coast and the Andaman and Nicobar coast within the next seventy two hours.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee restrain her Britain visit within the wake of the cyclone.

“Receiving feedback on cyclone readiness as we watch for our flight in Delhi to Kolkata. We pre-poned our trip because of scenario,” Banerjee said on Twitter throughout the day.

At least ten people were lacerate and over four hundred homes broken because of storms raging across the districts of North twenty four Parganas, Howrah and Nadia on Wednesday.
