Seven parties form united front in KashmirSrinagar, October 30 Seven political parties including the Communists Wednesday declared the formation of a “People’s United Front”, in part to contest Lok Sabha and assembly elections next year.

Leaders of the the CPI, CPI-M, Lok Janshakti Party, People’s Democratic Front (PDF) and therefore the Samajwadi Party and others created the announcement at a rally here.

Muhammad Yusuf Tarigami,-Marxist, said: “Like-minded parties are operating along in Jammu and Kashmir over several problems.

Jammu and Kashmir wants another political initiative and a broader platform to resolve the issues faced by the individuals.

“We believe today’s initiative isn’t an end in itself but the new starting of a new people’s movement.”

Tarigami said the People’s united front wouldn’t stay restricted to those seven political parties.

“We are inviting social organisations, intellectuals and all others to join the front so that people’s issues are solved . The creation of the front isn’t aimed at simply the coming elections.”

More than five hundred individuals from different parts of the Kashmir valley attended the rally held within the Sher-e-Kashmir Municipal Park in Srinagar.
