86 Tourists rescued near Mt Everest

Mount.everestBEIJING: Chinese rescuers have safely exhausted eighty six tourists, as well as thirteen foreigners, who were trapped in heavy snow at the north base camp of Everest in central Tibet.

Tibet government Autonomous Region said that 78 tourists, who had been stranded at the camp, were safely moved to a close-by building.

A total of eighty six tourists were at the start trapped at the camp however Monday evening report said eight of them had left Rongbuk, the world’s highest monastery situated at an altitude of 5,100 metres.

The tourists enclosed thirteen foreigners mainly Australian and Dutch citizens, state-run Xinhua news agency reported .

The tourists were close to go downhill when sightseeing at the base camp of the Mt Everest famed in Tibet as Mout Qomolangma once a snowstorm blocked the roads.

The government said that they had mobilized over forty rescuers and machinery to clear the method.
