Bangalore, October 24 India’s 94-year-old legendary playback singer Manna Dey died after a prolonged sickness in the wee hours of Thursday at a private hospital on this city’s outskirts.
“Dey died around 4 a.m. after his condition suddenly deteriorated in the wee hours though he was on a ventilator.
Dey, who was ailing for over 4 months, leaves behind 2 daughters Rama and Sumita.
His elder girl was sitting at his side after we alerted her father’s deteriorating condition,” Vasuki same.
Sumita lives in the United States, according to Dey’s family.
He was shifted to the private hospital in July after he suffered lung infection and was undergoing treatment for respiratory disorder.
