Microsoft launches new Outlook app for iOS, Android users

MICRONew York, Jan 30: Taking Gmail and different email apps head on, Microsoft has launched a replacement Outlook app for iOS and android devices.

The new app is essentially a replacement for San Francisco-based email startup Acompli that was acquired by Microsoft for $200 million in December last year, new york Daily News according.

Outlook can support workplace 365, Exchange, Outlook.com, Yahoo Mail, Gmail, iCloud and different key email services.

The app also will facilitate users manage calendar and fetch attachments among identical app.

Users will be ready to attach files from Dropbox, Google Drive, Microsoft OneDrive or the user’s mailbox right from the app.

“Our mission is to bring the simplest mobile email expertise across platforms, in a manner that’s as acquainted and useful as Outlook itself,” Javier Soltero, Outlook general manager and former CEO of Acompli aforesaid in a statement.

The new Outlook app will be an identical expertise to the Acompli.

Microsoft conjointly proclaimed that it’s removing the “preview” tag from its workplace for android apps.
