TAXIBeijing, Aug 11: Over 700 taxi drivers in China’s Wuhan town staged a strike to safeguard against Uber-like car services like Didi Kuaidi, a media report said.

The drivers were seen driving vacant taxis in queues on the most streets within the downtown space, inflicting traffic dislocation on Monday, the People’s Daily reported .

One taxi driver said that they were staging the strike to protest against Uber-like private car services like Didi Kuaidi due to “unfair competition”.

The report added  that the authorities didn’t intervene within the strike and allowed the taxi drivers to hold on with the protest peacefully.
