An announcement kind the Foreign Office mentioned that “the spirit of the Saarc Charter is violated when a member state casts the shadow of its bilateral issues on the multilateral forum for regional cooperation”.
“Pakistan attaches nice significance to regional cooperation below the umbrella of Saarc and stays dedicated to hosting the 19th SAARC Summit at Islamabad on the earliest,” it added as Pakistan announces Saarc Summit cancellation.
Within the wake of September 18 terrorist assault in Uri city of Jammu and Kahsmir, India determined to not take part within the Summit, which was adopted by the boycott of Afghanistan, Bhutan, Bangaladesh and on Friday Sri Lanka too expressed its reservations.
The assertion additionally stated that Pakistan deplores India’s determination to impede the Saarc course of by not attending it, which was slated for November 9-10 when Pakistan announces Saarc Summit cancellation.
“The choice by India to derail the Summit successfully contradicts Prime Minister (Narendra) Modi’s personal name to battle in opposition to poverty within the area,” the assertion stated.
