Collins-Obuya-KenyaNairobi, Dec twelve: Kenyan national cricket team captain Collins Obuya resigned Wednesday citing the country’s failure to qualify for the 2014 Twenty20 tourney scheduled  for March/April 2014 in Bangladesh, Xinhua reported .

Cricket Kenya board has chosen Rakeep Patel to exchange the embattled Obuya, who was recently caught in associate wrangle with fellow mate.

Cricket Kenya chief executive officer Kobus Laurence Olivier confirmed Obuya’s resignation, revealing that the national coach, Zimbabwean Robin Brown has conjointly quit the technical bench owing to personal reasons.

“It is true the 2 have quit their positions within the bench and former tourney veteran Steve Tikolo has been named as interim coach,” Laurence Olivier told Xinhua by phonephone in Nairobi.
