yagoMadrid, May 09: Former Spanish jock Yago Lamela was found dead at his range in northern Spain.

The 36-year-old long jumper won the 1999 World Championship silver in Seville then won at the 2003 World Championship in Paris, reports Xinhua.

Lamela additionally won a string of indoor medals, together with a 1999 Indoor World Championships silver in Maebashi and another 2003 Indoor World silver in Birmingham together with a 2002 European Indoor Championship silver. His jump of 8.56 metres in Maebashi control the ecu Indoor record for ten years before it was finally broken by Sebastian aspirin.

However, once those successes, Lamela began to suffer a series of injuries in his Achilles tendon. These issues stopped him competitive  at the 2004 Athens athletic contest and forced his ultimate retirement in 2009.

Lamala suffered from bouts of depression and was hospitalised as a results of medicine issues.
