Manu Sotelo, Brentford FC Goalkeeper Coach, added: “I’m very pleased that Thomas has joined us. With him in our goalkeeper union, we will have a nice competition that will provide a step up for everyone. Thomas is an experienced goalkeeper who has played a lot in Serie A and for Albania.
“He fits perfectly with the sort of goalkeeper we want here. He can give us a lot of solutions playing from the back, he is an outstanding shot stopper and is very good positionally. When we spoke to him, he showed his desire to come and work hard to make himself and our other goalkeepers better.”
He will compete with 26-year-old Spain International David Raya who has been Brentford’s first choice since 2019.

Yehor Yarmoliuk Also Joins
Brentford also announced the signing of 18-year-old midfield Yehor Yarmoliuk, subject to international clearance. Yehor has joined from Ukrainian side SC Dnipro-1 for an undisclosed fee and he has signed a three-year contract with a Club option of an additional year.
On Yehor’s arrival in West London, Director of Football Phil Giles said: “Yehor is a player with very high potential and we’re pleased to welcome him to Brentford.
“He’s a really advanced midfield player who can also play even higher up. He’s somebody who can create, assist, and is technically very good. He will bring a dynamic element to the team, as well as a lot of power.
“He’s coming to us from a very difficult time in Ukraine and we are here to support him in every single way, on and off the pitch. We will help him to improve his English over a period of time, but first and foremost we will do everything to make him feel included at the Club and make sure he settles in properly.”
