Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Suvendu Adhikari has praised shooter Mehuli Ghosh for her gold medal winning performance at the ongoing ISSF Shooting World Cup Rifle/Pistol/Shotgun stage in Changwon, Korea.
On Wednesday, Mehuli Ghosh and Shahu Tushar Mane won India’s second gold medal of the event as the pair emerged victorious in the 10m Air Rifle Mixed Team final.
Adhikari took to Twitter to praise the shooter.
“Many congratulations to ace Bengali Shooter Mehuli Ghosh for winning the Gold Medal at the Shooting World Cup 2022. You have made India proud. Mehuli won the 10m Air Rifle Mixed Team Gold with team mate Tushar Mane. Good luck to both for their future endeavours,” he wrote on Wednesday.
In an evenly contested match, Mehuli and Tushar defeated Hungary’s Eszter Meszaros and Istvan Pen 17-13. Shooters from Israel and the Czech Republic finished third and fourth, respectively.Tushar won his first senior gold medal for India, while Mehuli won her second yellow metal, having won her first at the 2019 South Asian Games in Kathmandu.

The Indian team of Palak and Shiva Narwal won bronze in the 10m Air Pistol mixed event after winning the third place play-off.
Palak and Shiva won the mixed Air Pistol event 16-0 over Kazakhstan’s Irina Loktionova and Valeriy Rakhimzhan.Arjun Babuta took gold in the men’s 10m air rifle event on Monday, giving India its first medal of the tournament. This was his first senior gold medal. In 2016, he won gold at the Junior World Cup in Gabala, Azerbaijan.
Babuta won by a lopsided 17-9 margin over Tokyo Olympics silver medalist Lucas Kozeniesky of the United States. The 23-year-old Punjab native, who has represented India since 2016, had previously topped the ranking match with 261.1 points to qualify for the gold medal match.With two gold medals and one bronze medal, India has now risen to second place behind leaders Serbia, with two gold medals and one bronze medal.
