Tamil Nadu contributes Rs.5 crore to flood-hit Kashmir

J-LChennai, Sept 08: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa Mon announced a contribution of Rs.5 crore to the flood-affected people of Jammu and Kashmir.

In a statement issued here, Jayalalithaa said: “As a token of the support and commonness of the govt. and people of Tamil Nadu with the govt. and people of Jammu and Kashmir in their hour of want, I have ordered the immediate contribution of Rs.5 crore from the Chief Minister’s Public Relief Fund to the govt. of Jammu and Kashmir.”

She sent her sincere condolences on behalf of the govt. and the individuals of Tamil Nadu to the family members of all those that have died within the floods.

“The government of Tamil Nadu stands able to render the other help as may be needed by the govt. of Jammu and Kashmir,” Jayalalithaa aforesaid.

The toll within the worst floods in Jammu and Kashmir in over fifty years is alleged to own crossed 150.
