333Six Members of Parliament representing the Seemandhra region of Andhra Pradesh have met Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar to seek acceptance of their resignations over acentral government and Congress Party proposal to go ahead with the bifurcation of united Andhra Pradesh for the creation of a new state of Telangana.

The six MPs are Undavilli Arun Kumar representing Rajamundry,Lagadapati Rajagopal from Vijayawada, Rayapati Sambasiva Raofrom Guntur, A. Venkatarami Reddy from Ananthpur, S P Y Reddy from Nandyl and A Saipratap from Rajampet.

These lawmakers had handed in their resignations soon after the Congress Working Committee decided in favour of creating a separate state of Telangana on July 30.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy has once again reiterated that a division of Andhra Pradesh would lead to serious problems, and is not in the interest of the Telugu speaking people.

He said Friday that he was ready to quit office for the cause of a united Andhra Pradesh. (ANI)
