Panaji, Dec 16: Goa Police have started a preliminary investigation against Bharatiya Janata Party voice Meenakshi Lekhi, defendant of leaky the Tejpal rape case victim’s name on her Twitter handle.

However, the plaintiff, who may be a town lawyer, claims the police within the BJP-ruled state are taking part in foul.

The Cyber biological process of the state police last week formally sent a request to Sunil Kawthankar, a town lawyer who during a grievance demanded Lekhi be set-aside underneath Section 228 A of the Indian legal code.

“You are requested to gift a screenshot copy and URL of the twits (tweets) created by Minakshi Latika if on the market else you’re kindly requested to create yourself on the market for distinguishing the tweets (twits) and URL that is crucial for additional action,” a letter written by Cyber Cell Police Inspector Rajesh Job browse.

The letter sent Dec ten, was received by Kawthankar Sabbatum.

Kawthankar aforesaid he was glad the preliminary police probe had started, however added  he suspected police weren’t serious in their investigation against a senior BJP official.

“My grievance submitted Dec two clearly names Meenakshi Lekhi. and also the police are vocation her Minakshi Latika within the request letter. If they can not even get a reputation right, however can they find Lekhi on Twitter and investigate her,” Kawthankar claimed.

He also aforesaid he would take up the matter with the director general of police Mon.

The National Commission of women had already summoned Lekhi for her alleged tweet wherever she named the victim who has defendant Tehelka editor-in-chief Tarun Tejpal of alleged rape.

Lekhi has rejected the allegations claiming her Twitter handle had been misused  and referred to as the allegations against her a “politically motivated  campaign”.
