Srinagar, Dec 05: Six people, including 2 troopers, were killed Friday in an in progress gunfight between the protection forces and separatist guerrillas in Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla district, police aforesaid.
A senior police officer aforesaid 2 policemen and 2 militants were conjointly killed within the gun battle close to Uri border city.
The exchange of fire started when a group of heavily armed guerrillas attacked a military camp in Mohra area close to the city Friday morning.
“Two policemen – a head constable and a constable, 2 troopers and 2 militants are killed during this encounter that is still going on,” the senior police officer told.
“A cluster of 2 to 3 militants are believed to possess attacked the camp…,” the officer added .
There are reports of a {fire|a fireplace|a hearth} from the camp however fire tenders are unable to go within because of the ongoing gun battle.
