“Bali could be a living island, an area that has continually stirred in me contrastive emotions, stirred up by its fluid and changeable light-weight, by a rituality created from gestures that render the invisible visible and, above all, by a diffuse beauty that reflects a harmony that’s regularly reinvented”, Rotunno added in a very statement.

Paoli has collaborated with celebrated historiographer Dr. Alka Pande for this project.

The series of pictures are a shot to form a comparison of the role of girls in India and Bali, 2 nations permeated by an equivalent spiritual traditions and to start out a mirrored image on the chance for ladies in society, Paoli said.

“Bruna Rotunno’s affair with the island of Bali started 30 years past, once she visited them for the primary time,” she said.

“In a project spanning eight years, she has organized her gaze into a story in photos wherever each gesture and each figure meticulously interprets the essence of a novel place, characterised by a fluid and harmonious energy,” she added .
