Bhubaneswar, Feb 22: Odisha Law Minister Maheswar Mohanty was abraded Friday night when being shot at by unknown assailants in his home city Puri, a police official said. he’s currently recuperating in a hospital.
Two to 3 people fired at Mohanty at regarding 10 p.m. once he was returning home on his bike in Puri, 56 km from Bhubaneswar.
The minister sustained bullet injuries in one hand, Superintendent of Police Anup Kumar Sahoo told.
Initially, he was taken to a hospital within the city however later shifted to a private institution in Bhubaneswar.
Police are creating efforts to nab the assailants, Sahoo said. the reason why he was shot at has not been discovered nevertheless, he added.
