Varanasi/Ballia, May 1 : Prime Minister Narendra Modi rode an e-boat and an e-rickshaw in Varanasi on Sunday and added India has got to become stronger by empowering its poor.
The prime minister flew into Varanasi, his parliamentary body, once launching the Pradhar Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, below that free LPG connections are given to 5 crore poor ladies, earlier in Ballia.
“Schemes that strengthen the individuals are vital, not schemes that strengthen vote banks. India has got to become stronger,” Modi cleared at the Assi ghat once the boat ride on the Ganges.
“We are empowering the poor so they will battle economic condition,” he added.
“Our expertise throughout the January Dhan Yojana brought out the richness of the poor,” he said.
“And it’s very satisfying to figure day and night for the poor.”
The prime minister added: “This nation, our government and our banks — they’re for the poor.”
Modi began his day at Ballia, wherever he gave away some cookery gas connections to individuals.
The Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana can offer free LPG connections to 5 crore ladies happiness to Below poverty level (BPL) families between 2016 and 2019.
Modi then visited Varanasi and distributed e-rickshaws and launched a theme for environment-friendly e-boats at the Assi ghat.
