New Delhi, Feb 24: The govt on Tuesday introduced the land acquisition modification bill within the Lok Sabha amid uproar by the opposition.
The Right to fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition Rehabilitation and conveyance (Amendment) Bill 2015 can replace an ordinance that had been publicised by the NDA government Dec thirty last year.
The opposition parties, led by the Congress, vociferously opposed the bill on the ground of the house. The Congress staged a walkout.
Introducing the bill, Rural Development Minister Birender Singh said: “I have received the objections of the members however this may be discussed once the bill is taken into thought.”
Civil society activists, led by Anna Hazare, are protestant on the problem at Jantar Mantar, a short distance away from parliament.
