ANAGandhinagar, May 22: Anandiben Patel was Thursday sworn in as Gujarat’s new chief minister, a day when Narendra Modi resigned to become India’s prime minister.

Senior BJP leaders together with party president Rajnath Singh, L.K. Advani, Murli Manohar Joshi and Arun Jaitley were present at the ceremony command at mahatma Mandir convention centre here.

Patel, 73, was Wed nem con elected leader of the BJP assembly Party, paving the means for her to succeed her mentor and become the state’s first woman chief minister.

Modi quit as chief minister when leading the Bharatiya Janata Party to a shocking triumph in general elections. he’s to be sworn in as India’s next prime minister Monday.
