Chennai, October 30 Southern actor Namitha, known for her exciting roles in films like “Aai” and “Chanakya” over the years, is happy to don the khaki for the primary time on screen in upcoming Tamil-Telugu-Kannada trilingual “Ilamai Oonjal”.
She is very happy to steer away from monotonous roles she has been doing for a long time.
“It was a conscious decision to play a cop role. i am excited as well as happy as a result of in a} very long term, I actually have got a chance to do something different.
Director even offered me one of the heroines’ roles in the film, however I refused because I wanted a difficult role.
she said , “I do not think i need to do any exciting roles anymore. i do not mind strong character roles as well. i am glad I got this chance to play a cop. I managed to pull off some stunt sequences as well in the film. i think this can be my better part thus far in my career,”
