TCSThiruvananthapuram, Jan 4:Tata consultancy Services (TCS) is a shining example of the success of Indian private enterprises, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh aforesaid Saturday.

“It has carved a niche for itself in the world market for IT and IT-enabled services and has set benchmarks of excellence in the area of software development,” the prime minister aforesaid here.

Manmohan Singh was addressing a gathering at the foundation laying ceremony of TCS world Learning Centre at the Technopark field here.

TCS is an Indian major in IT services, business solutions and practice. it’s headquartered in Mumbai and it operates in more than 40 countries.

“Today, TCS ranks among the highest ten IT services firms globally. it’s not only the highest valued company in India however also the second most valuable company in the world in the technology services industry.”

The projected world Learning Centre of TCS, once totally useful, will be able to train about 50,000 associates annually.

It will also conduct holistic skilled and private development programmes for TCS professionals.

“I am assured that the Centre, that proposes to integrate elegant style, ecological thinking and trendy technology, can set world benchmarks for company learning institutions,” Manmohan Singh aforesaid.

“The Centre can any enhance the presence of TCS in Kerala and Thiruvananthapuram above all.

“TCS is also fixing a software development Special Economic Zone in Thiruvananthapuram,” he added.

The prime minister also recognised that such centres will only generate opportunities for productive employment of youth in adequate numbers whereas meeting the stress of the increasing economy for a talented workforce.

“Therefore, our government has set terribly formidable targets for itself in the space of ability development and is working onerous to achieve them.

“We have taken many initiatives during this space and a few of them have concerned partnership with the non-public sector,” he said.

Manmohan Singh pointed that the IT sector in India had witnessed extraordinary growth over the past many years, notably in the space of package development.

“The government stands committed to providing an enabling setting which inspires the sector to grow even any.

“Pursuant to recommendations of the Rangachary Report, many taxation problems tackling the IT sector are addressed. we tend to are engaged in the resolution of problems referring to immigration and visas.

“We try to boost the hardware system in the country and are exploring the institution of 2 semi-conductor wafer fabrication producing facilities.”
