New Delhi, Dec 26: Automobile manufacturer Tata Motors Fri flagged off the primary batch of 123 AC buses equipped with automatic drive in Ahmedabad below the Jawaharlal Nehru National urban renewal Mission (JNNURM)- phase ii theme.
According to the corporate, it’s bagged orders for 3,200 buses below JNNURM- phase ii theme.
“These AC buses with automatic drive are best suited for BRTS operations and are developed for the primary time for Janmarg,” aforesaid Vernon Noronha, vice chairman, defence and government business, Tata Motors.
“Automatic transmission in buses can reduce driver fatigue, improve acceleration, maneuverability and overall rider comfort and skill, and a lot of revenue earnings per bus.”
The new buses are engineered by the company’s joint venture (JV) Tata Marcopolo and are being operated by personal operators.
