Petrol bunk owners in Hyderabad end strike

indian oilHyderabad, March 3: petrol bunks in Hyderabad and different major cities and cities in Andhra Pradesh reopened Monday afternoon after a nearly 24-hour strike to protest against the quelling on some shops allegedly meddling dispensing units.

The owners of the fuel stations determined to decision off the strike following talks with officers of the Legal science Department, that deals with weights and measures.

The breakthrough was achieved when Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan asked Chief Secretary P.K. Mohanty to require necessary steps to finish the strike.

Thousands of motorists crowded the petrol bunks as shortly as they reopened in Hyderabad. the group at many stations diode to traffic jams on the most roads.

Earlier, the flash strike, that began Sunday evening, continuing within the urban area of Hyderabad and Secunderabad, Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada and different cities inflicting severe inconvenience to vehicle owners.

Many motorists were seen outside the closed fuel stations. As some bunks of the Indian Oil were open, several pushed their two-wheelers to the closest open outlet.

But even at the bunks that were functioning, long queues were seen. The motorists stood for hours for his or her flip.

The authorities Saturday launched a state-wide quelling on fuel stations to check the usage of dispensing pumps that lack obligatory approval. The officers set-aside concerning fifty cases.

According to the AP Federation of petroleum Traders, the dispensing pumps are put in by oil companies and seeking approval was their responsibility.

The dealers argue that if there are technical glitches within the dispensing units, they cannot be control responsible as oil firms have put in them.

The federation alleged that the officers were movement down the bunks while not giving notice. The traders have vulnerable to continue the strike until the raids stopped.

Last month, ten bunks were sealed on charges of tampering fuel dispensing units using device.

There are 6,000 fuel stations within the state, including 1,000 in Hyderabad and near  Ranga Reddy district.
