GOOGLE1Bangalore, May 10: India’s IT guru N.R. Narayanan Murthy Friday launched the primary Indo-US hackathon, being command simultaneously at the campuses of worldwide program Google here and at Mountain read in California.

Over this weekend, regarding 500-600 sensible techies in each cities can produce applications that may build individuals deal with natural disaster like earthquakes, drought or cyclones.

“It is a honour to be a part of this glorious event. Holding a hackathon is a nice plan as every will learn from different within the competition and develop algorithm-based programmes for addressing issues in education, health, nutrition and shelter,” Murthy aforesaid in a keynote speech here.

Organised by Code for India, a non-profit organisation, which inspires techies to volunteer their time and talent to the developing world, the 24-hour non-stop parallel event can facilitate the geeks to develop tech-based applications to empower poor and address public service delivery problems.

“Though the govt. features a massive role in bridging the gap between the made and poor, we’ve got also to play our half find solutions to social issues,” Murthy aforesaid.

Noting that regarding 500,000 NGOs were operating across the country, Murthy aforesaid majority of them weren’t tech-savvy and lack tools like ERP (enterprise resource planning) and connected IT solutions that will build them economical and productive.

“As NGOs get into uncomfortable things with tax authorities and different stakeholders, they will be ready to perform higher with the help of technology and solutions that are applicable in their services. because the biggest drawback in India in handling natural calamities isn’t lack of resources however their management, as witnessed throughout the tsunami disaster a decade past,” Murthy aforesaid.
