Delhi MetroNew Delhi, dec 24: The Delhi metro that created its first run within the capital dec 24, 2002, Tues completed 11 years of operation.

“We started with a network of 8.5 km and 6 stations, between Shahdara and Tis Hazari, that was inaugurated by the prime minister. we tend to had six trains, of that four were operational, and coated 775 km-run on the first day,” aforesaid Anuj Dayal, DMRC executive director for company communications.

Since then, Dayal said, metro trains in Delhi cover a distance of 70,000 km daily, carrying over 23 lakh passengers on a daily basis.

“We carried one lakh passengers in Dec 2002, and recently Aug 8, we tend to carried 25 lakh passengers. On Aug 19, we carried 26 lakh passengers. These are our milestones, and we are very happy with them” he aforesaid.

Dayal also listed many activities by the DMRC, together with reservation of the primary coach of the metro for women in Oct 2012.
