BHANew Delhi, July 28: Bharti Airtel has crossed three hundred million customers mark across its operations globally, the company aforesaid in a statement here Monday.

“Today, telecommunication is at the cusp of transformation, which, going forward, will be driven as much by the force of technology as by the changing demographics in rising markets across Asia and Africa,” aforesaid Gopal Vittal, managing director and chief executive officer (India and South Asia), Bharti Airtel.

“Accelerated information consumption by the youth goes to be the underlying story,” Vittal aforesaid.

The company provides telecommunications services in twenty countries across Asia and Africa. In Africa, Bharti Airtel spans seventeen countries with over seventy million customers.

Bharti Airtel, that began operations in 1995, reached the one hundred million customers mark in 2009 and crossed the 200 million mark in 2012.

The latest one hundred million customers have joined the Airtel family in but 2 years, the statement aforesaid.

The milestone includes customers across mobile, fixed line and direct connection, and direct-to-home services.
