New Delhi, April 23 : celebrated Urdu author and author Joginder Paul died on Friday when a protracted sickness. He was 90.
Paul had been laid low with age-related unwellness and was hospitalized for a few weeks.
He is survived by his married woman Krishna, sons Sudhir and Sunit, and female offspring Sukrita.

Born on Sep five, 1925 in Sialkot in present day Pakistan, Paul migrated to India at the time of Partition. His maternal language is Punjabi, however his primary and school education was in Urdu medium.
He did his M.A. in English literature, that he tutored till he retired because the principal of a post-graduate school in Maharashtra. Paul selected to place his inventive expression in Urdu language, as he believed that Urdu is “not a language however a culture” and for him writing is to be within the culture. He was a part of the Progressive Urdu Writers’ Movement.
