Sensex trades flat during pre-noon session

sessionMumbai, Dec 23: A benchmark index of Indian equities markets was trading flat at 68.42 points or 0.32 % up throughout the pre-noon trade Monday.

Good shopping for was seen in capital product, banking index (bankex), metal and durables sectors, whereas selling pressure was seen in IT and technology, media and recreation (TECK) sectors.

The 30-scrip sensitive index (Sensex) of the S&P Mumbai exchange (BSE), that opened at 21,080.54 points, was trading at 21,148.14 points within the pre-noon session, up 68.42 points or 0.32 % from the last trading day’s close at 21,079.72 points.

The Sensex touched a high of 21,207.89 points, and a low of 21,080.54 points throughout the trade thus far.

The S&P mad cow disease capital product gained 157.33 points, bankex increased by 143.74 points, metal index increased by 126.44 points and durables index gained 106.19 points. However, IT index dropped by 84.21 points and TECK index slipped by 34.75 points.

The wider 50-scrip bully of the National exchange (NSE) was also trading flat at 27.40 points or 0.44 % and was trading at 6,301.65 points.
