By India Today Sports Desk: Mumbai Indians captain Harmanpreet Kaur has said that the positivity in the camp has been producing the results for them after their 55-run win over Gujarat Giants on Tuesday.
MI made it five in five with their win over GG and booked their playoffs spot with Harmanpreet Kaur and the bowlers delivering a top performance on the day.
The MI captain scored another fifty while Nat Sciver-Brunt and Hayley Matthews picked up three wickets each as the GG innings ended at 107 for nine in 20 overs while chasing 163 runs.
Harmanpreet was given the Player Of The Match award for her performance. Speaking at the post-match presentation, as quoted by Cricbuzz, the MI Captain said that the credit for the fine run went to the support staff and her teammates and they wanted to continue playing the same way.
Harmanpreet said she was happy when she got the team as the players were doing well for their countries and the positivity in the camp is giving them the results.
“Credit goes to all the support staff and team-mates. The way we have been playing, we want to continue. We are so positive and they always want to do well for the team. When we got this team, I was really happy, they were doing well for the country and now they will do the same for MI. The positivity is giving all the results,” said Harmanpreet.
The MI captain commented on her knock of 51 and said once you get settled on the track in Brabourne, then you can score runs.
“When we played last game on this wicket, initially you are not going to get runs. Once you get settled you will get runs. That’s what I did today. Whatever which is giving results is what I’m doing. Sometimes you have to see the boundary dimensions as well. The leg-side is short and a medium-pacer was bowling and that’s why I went and the last-over anyway you need to go, but this was the longer boundary and I could not clear,” said Harmanpreet.
