By India Today Sports Desk: LSG bowler Mohsin Khan has revealed the harrowing experience he had to go through while dealing with a serious injury that would have forced him to amputate his arm if he was late for getting treated.

The left-arm pacer had to miss majority of the ongoing IPL 2023 season as he underwent surgery to remove blood clots in his bowling shoulder last year.

The 24-year-old was one of the stars for LSG in the IPL 2022 season as he picked 14 wickets in just nine matches at an impressive average of 14.07.

Mohsin has played three games this season and showed his brilliance on Tuesday against MI in a crucial game for LSG. The 24-year-old bowled a spectacular final over and defended 10 runs to help Lucknow win the match against the five-time champions by five runs.

Speaking at the post-match press conference, Mohsin opened up on the injury he suffered and said he hopes none of the other cricketers get it as his artery was completely blocked.

The 24-year-old said that it was tough time for him personally as he had lost hope of playing cricket as his left arm couldn’t be lifted at one point and wasn’t even getting fully straight.

“My injury, I hope none of the cricketers get it. This was a different sort of injury as my artery was completely blocked. The nerves in my arm had got completely blocked. The association, Rajeev Shukla sir, Gautam Gambhir sir, the LSG franchise, Sanjeev sir, my family, they all backed me.”

“Before and after the surgery for my injury, I struggled a lot and it was a tough time for me. I had lost hope of playing cricket as my hand couldn’t be lifted at one point. It wasn’t even getting fully straight,” said Mohsin.

Mohsin went on to elaborate on the extent of his injury and admitted that he still gets scared thinking about it. According to the 24-year-old, his doctor told him that they would have been forced to amputate his arm if he was late in getting treatment.

“It was a medical related thing. I still get scared thinking about it. The doctor told me that if I was late by one month, we would have had to amputate your arm,” said Mohsin.
