Cricket legends Sachin Tendulkar and Wasim Akram have wished Rishabh Pant a speedy recovery after the 25-year-old was involved in a horrific car accident on Friday. Pant’s car collided with a divider on the Delhi-Dehradun highway.

By India Today Web Desk: Cricket legends Sachin Tendulkar and Wasim Akram wished Rishabh Pant a speedy recovery after the India wicketkeeper was involved in a car accident on Friday morning.

Pant’s car collided with a divider on the Delhi-Dehradum highway in a horrific incident that saw the vehicle catch fire. The 25-year-old was saved by a passerby, who shattered the window of the car and got the wicketkeeper out.

Pant was the only person inside the car at the time and the vehicle was completely burned down.

Wishes have been pouring for the 25-year-old after the incident and Tendulkar and Akram are the latest to wish Pant a speedy recovery.

The Indian cricket legend told the wicketkeeper on Twitter that his prayers were with him and wished him a quick recovery.

“Wishing you a very speedy recovery @RishabhPant17. My prayers are with you,” said Tendulkar in his tweet.

Akram also tweeted his wishes to Pant and wished him a swift return to cricket after the incident on Friday.

The BCCI issued a statement on Pant after the incident and said that the 25-year-old has two cuts on his forehead, a ligament tear in his right knee and has also hurt his right wrist, ankle, toe and has suffered abrasion injuries on his back.

“India wicket-keeper Rishabh Pant met with a car accident early on Friday morning near Roorkee, Uttarakhand. He was admitted to Saksham Hospital Multispecialty and Trauma Centre where he was treated for impact injuries.”

“Rishabh has two cuts on his forehead, a ligament tear in his right knee and has also hurt his right wrist, ankle, toe and has suffered abrasion injuries on his back. Rishabh’s condition remains stable, and he has now been shifted to Max Hospital, Dehradun, where he will undergo MRI scans to ascertain the extent of his injuries and formulate his further course of treatment.”

“The BCCI is in constant touch with Rishabh’s family while the Medical Team is in close contact with the doctors currently treating Rishabh. The Board will see to it that Rishabh receives the best possible medical care and gets all the support he needs to come out of this traumatic phase,” read the statement on BCCI’s official website.
