By India Today Web Desk: Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has jumped to Chelsea boss Graham Potter’s defense, saying he knows the pressure and demands of the industry. Chelsea is currently placed 10th in the Premier League, while Arsenal sits atop the table, with 57 points from 24 matches.

Speaking ahead of their match against Everton, Arteta said Arsenal has been much more efficient in both boxes, insisting that their level has not dropped as the season progressed.

“We’ve been much more efficient in both boxes, and I think we’ve got individual errors that cost us certain points in that period. And then obviously the opponents play and some the opponent deserves to get something out of the game. But certainly, I think our level and the way we have played hasn’t dropped,” said Arteta.

He went on to back Potter, by saying that the managers know the pressure, demands and intensity of the industry, adding that he can empathise with Potter since he has been through the same.

“We are colleagues and we all know the pressure, the demands and intensity that this industry has and as well. Because the fact is, at the end, the ball has to go into that net and there are many factors that sometimes prevent that, that you cannot control. So of course, you empathise and because you suffer, because you know how it is when you are going through those moments,” Arteta added.

Speaking about centre-backs Gabriel Magalhaes and William Saliba’s bust up after their narrow win against Leicester City, Arteta said he wants players with feelings at the club.

“I don’t want robots. I want players with feeling, with passion that demand from each other. But at the end they have that chemistry and those two certainly have that chemistry on and off the field. And I love that, even winning and they wanted still to do better,” said Arteta.
