By India Today Web Desk: Australia star batter David Warner penned an emotional note for his wife after playing his 100th Test, saying she is the reason he is going stronger than ever.

Warner’s 100th Test coincided with Australia’s Boxing Day Test against South Africa. The 36-year-old smashed a Test double hundred at the Melbourne Cricket Ground to make his 100th appearance memorable. The knock was crucial for Warner, as he was struggling to score runs before the second match.

The Australian star took to Instagram to appreciate his wife Candice’s efforts. “No words can describe my love for you!! Thank you so much for everything you do for the girls and me. You sacrifice so much for us, and I have never heard you complain about anything.

“You are the reason I’m still going stronger than ever. I can’t thank you enough for being by my side. These last few weeks have been a challenge, but you’ve kept us in a positive mind frame. The younger me would not have gotten through it. I love you with all my heart,” Warner added.

Candice also heaped praise on her husband, saying: “Take a bow darling you deserve to. Man of the match and a win to go with it!!

Australia beat South Africa by an innings and 182 runs in the second Test to secure the three-match series. Warner, who scored 200, was named the Player of the Match. Australia will host South Africa for the third Test in Sydney from January 4.

“My Dad could not come here, but this one is up there. Never doubted my abilities. It is all about coming out here, I have trained my backside off in the nets. Just needed to get out there and perform on the big stage,” Warner told broadcasters after the match.
