Kolkata, Feb 21: A minimum of fifteen people went missing after an overcrowded boat capsized in West Bengal’s North twenty four Parganas district Sat, police aforesaid.
The mishap occurred on Vidyadhari river in Sandeshkhali within the district.
“The boat carrying around fifty passengers was sure for Sandeshkhali once it capsized. Most of the passengers were saved or swam to safety however a minimum of fifteen of them are still missing. We are completing search and rescue operations,” sub-divisional police officer (Basirhat) Avijit Banerjee aforesaid.
