New Delhi, Feb 10: The standard ‘jhadu’ – the AAP election image – Tues sold for Rs.200 a piece here as frenzied celebrations erupted when the party swept the Delhi assembly election.
A broom usually sells for Rs.30-50.
AAP supporters complained that many outlets ran out of their stock of brooms. Shopkeepers aforesaid there was agitated shopping for since Mon in anticipation of an Aam Aadmi Party triumph.
But despite the price, AAP supporters still bought the brooms — to wave as they celebrated on the streets and outside party offices.
The AAP is poised to win an improbable sixty five of the seventy seats within the Delhi assembly, exploit simply four seats to the BJP and one to the Indian National Lok dal. The Congress suffered a washout.
