New Delhi, Dec 6 Prime Minister Manmohan Singh aforesaid Friday that the country’s rate had quite doubled to an annual average of over seven % and also the economy was on an upward flight within the last twenty years.

“Today, several feel discontented with a growth of 5 p.c, whereas for quite twenty years, 5 % was the target rate of growth of our 5 Year Plans,” the prime minister additional.
“There are going to be periodic ups and downs. The economic cycle presents us years of high performance and years of modest performance,” he said.
The 81-year-old prime minister termed his generation jointly that had lived through nearly half-a-century of slow growth, low industrial development and small social quality.
He additionally aforesaid that economic process, social amendment and political authorisation have brought in their wake the new aspirations of a completely new generation.
“A revolution of rising expectations is current and that i welcome it,” he said.
