Tuticorin: The principal of a private college in Tamil Nadu was killed on campus this morning with knives and a sickle, allegedly by three students who had been suspended for indiscipline.
The police said Suresh Kumar, the principal of the Infant Jesus Engineering College in Tuticorin district, was attacked when he was about to enter his office at 8 am. The students had allegedly come armed with sharp weapons. All three were arrested.
Suresh Kumar, 55, was taken to hospital by other students, but he died on the way . After the incident, the college was closed for the day.
Fellow students of the three accused said one of them had been suspended thrice for alleged ragging and other acts of indiscipline.
