The 40-year-old YSR Congress chief was forcibly given fluids at the Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS), doctors said.

Before being escorted far from the spot outside his workplace wherever he had been fasting, Mr Reddy told his supporters that “2014 are going to be a referendum” on the Centre’s decision to carve out the Telangana state. (Track LIVE updates)

Earlier on Wed evening, Jagan’s mother, Vijayamma, met BJP president Rajnath Singh in city, triggering speculation that an alliance between the 2 parties could be a work-in-progress. Recently, Mr Reddy, who was discharged last month from jail and is being investigated for corruption, praised the BJP’s candidate for prime minister, Narendra Modi, as an economical administrator. However, he urged the BJP leader to demonstrate his commitment to secularism.

Since Mr Reddy took charge of the YSR Congress party in 2011, he has proved that he’s an rising force in regional politics with strong performances in local elections.

Congress leader Digvijaya Singh has said that an alliance with adult male Reddy might be considered by his party when the national elections are command. however Mr Reddy has been less kind towards the party that his father belonged to.

Over the weekend, he targeted its president Sonia Gandhi for the choice to separate Andhra Pradesh into 2 as a result of “someone needed their son to be Prime Minister.” The reference was to her son, Rahul, and to the revenant criticism that the Congress needs to make a Telangana state for dividends within the national elections, due by May.
