Kochi, November 1 Kerala has the potential to become a hub for health tourism, Chief Minister Oommen Chandy said Thursday citing availability of latest technology, medical expertise and low treatment prices in the state.

“Treatment cost in Kerala is one-tenth of the price in other parts of the country. So, we want to develop the potential further by attracting investment and providing training to doctors and medical employees.

The city has already done well in Ayurveda and now the main focus should be to emerge as a preferred “destination for affordable and best healthcare”, The chief minister said.

Azad Moopen,the chairman, Kerala Health tourism said , “Kerala Health tourism conference will help provide a roadmap to the state to become a hub for medical value travel,”
