KIPPLondon, April 11: Record holder Wilson Kipsang has aforesaid he’s in better form for Sunday’s London Marathon than last year once he bust the world record mark in Berlin.

The Kenyan set a new world best time of 2:03:23 last September once he cruised to finish within the 2013 Berlin Marathon, beating his nearest rival Eliud Kipchoge by quite forty seconds, reports Xinhua.

The 32-year-old believes he will do higher here Sunday.

“I sit here as the marathon record holder thus I feel full of confidence compared to last year,” he aforesaid Th.

“Since setting the world record I’ve targeting recovering well and increase my mileage once more slowly. My preparation has gone to set up and i am trying forward to seeing how fast I can run Sunday.”

Kipsang, the 2012 champion, acknowledged that he learnt a valuable lesson at last year’s London Marathon, once he finished fifth once pushing the pace early in the race only to fade before the 30km mark.

“We have a experienced pacemaker in Haile this year,” he said. “He can take us through halfway in 61:45. Then, because it’s such a strong field, one of us must be able to build a move within the half of the race.

“It will not be simple, however if i have not spent too much energy in the half, i will be able to push the pace. i feel it’s potential to line a record within the London Marathon course, and if the weather is good Sunday i am assured i’ll run well.”
