Restrictions imposed outside Tihar jail

TIHARNew Delhi, May 22: Restrictions were obligatory outside Tihar jail here when AAP supporters staged a protest outside the jail within the wake of party leader Arvind Kejriwal being taken to jail Wednesday following a court’s order sending him to judicial custody, police aforesaid Thursday.

The restrictions underneath Section 144 of the IPC forbid mass gathering, a policeman aforesaid.

More than 2 firms of the Delhi Police are stationed in and outside the jail premises. Water canons, barricades and different security measures are place in place.

“Additional police has been stationed outside the premises of Tihar Jail because we apprehend that AAP staff can once more protest here these days (Thursday),” Deputy Commissioner of Police Ranvir Singh told IANS.

A number of AAP staff, together with senior party leader Yogendra Yadav and Manish Sisodia, were detained by the police following the protests.
