Sensex down 54 points in early trade

sensexMUMBAI: Extending its run, the bse benchmark sensex today declined over 53 points in early trade on sustained selling by funds once weak cues from CPI and IIP data.

The retail inflation measured in terms of consumer indicator (CPI) rose to ten.09% in october, getting into double digits once seven months. Either the industrial production grew by 2 per cent in september, in the main on account of better performance by power and mining sectors.

The 30-share index fell by fifty three.97 points, or 0.27%, to 20,227.94 in 1st 5 minutes of trading. The sensex lost 957.45 points in past six sessions.
