President sends e-link of At Home video to invitees

P P MNew Delhi, Jan 31: Taking off from the e-invites to attend President Pranab Mukherjee’s at home function on the occasion of Republic Day, the president’s house has forwarded invitees the e-link to a YouTube video of the function.

The 5.28-minute video shows the arrival of politicians, bureaucrats, ambassadors and other guests to the venue – the expansive lawns of Rashtrapati Bhavan.

Mukherjee’s guests included vice president Hamid Ansari, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Congress chief Sonia Gandhi, Bharatiya Janata Party leaders Sushma Swaraj and Arun Jaitley, and union ministers Sushilkumar Shinde, P. Chidambaram among others.

Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, the chief guest at the parade, and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal were also there.

The video shows Mukherjee mingling with the guests.

Rashtrapati Bhavan started sending e-invites from last year – saving paper in the process. but guests were nevertheless required to bring a colored printout of the invite.

The president’s house has a dedicated YouTube channel where all events related to the president are uploaded.
