One passenger shot in Bihar train robbery

SHOOT-BPatna, Dec 27: A group of armed criminals looted money and valuables value lakhs from passengers on a train in Bihar’s Saharsa district and shot a passenger, who tried to resist, police Sat aforesaid.

The theft occurred late Fri on the Samastipur-Banmankhi passenger train in Saharsa, regarding two hundred km from Patna.

“Armed criminals boarded the train before Kopadia railway station, halted the train by pulling the emergency chain at an isolated place and looted money and valuables,” aforesaid a police official.

The traveller, who was shot, was admitted to a hospital in Saharsa in a serious condition.

This is the second train theft reported  within the last 2 days in Bihar.

Over a dozen train robberies are reported  across the state within the last six months.
