Jayalalithaa’s bail plea rejected

JAY-PBangalore, Oct 07: The Karnataka high court Tues rejected the bail petition of jailed former Tamil Nadu chief minister J. Jayalalithaa, suddenly ending frenzied celebrations by her supporters once one of her lawyers earlier aforesaid she had been granted conditional bail.

Justice A.V. Chandrashekara, who detected Jayalalithaa’s petition, also declined to suspend the four-year jail term even once Special lawyer G. Bhavani Singh submitted he had no objection to the bail.

The AIADMK leader was condemned and sentenced for four years and fined Rs.100 crore for corruption by a special court here Sept twenty seven.
