Bhubaneswar, Feb 20: Eight people, including 2 children, coming back from a marriage were killed once a vehicle carrying them rammed into a tree in Odisha’s Kalahandi district Thursday, police aforesaid.
The accident occurred a few kilometres away from the district headquarter city of Bhabanipatna, concerning 430 km from city Bhubaneswar, at around 1 a.m., a police official told.
The driver of the multi-utility vehicle, carrying eleven passengers, lost management of the vehicle whereas taking a pointy flip and collided with a tree.
Seven people died on the spot, whereas one died in a hospital.
The two children who died were aged eleven and thirteen.
Two people were critically injured. A 10-year-old boy had a miraculous escape.
The accident took place once they were coming back from the marriage in a close village, the official aforesaid.
