EC asks Jayalalithaa 2New Delhi, Dec seven The committee Fri rejected Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa’s rivalry on its notice for Model Code of Conduct violation and suggested her to take care in future and not announce new schemes throughout elections to lure voters.

“The commission rejects the competition created within the reply of J. Jayalalithaa and has determined to advise her to take care in future and not create such announcements of recent schemes for citizens with a read to seductive them,” the commission aforesaid in its order.

The commission conjointly asked numerous political parties, notably their leaders, to religiously follow the Model Code of Conduct and not resort to any “subterfuge” to avoid its provisions.

The European Union on Dec two issued a notice to Jayalalithaa following a grievance that she created announcement of recent schemes whereas candidacy for her party candidate Nov twenty eight during a byelection to the legislature from Yercaud.

In its notice, the commission aforesaid her campaign speech was within the nature of alluding to totally different social and infrastructural needs required for Yercaud that had been delivered to her notice.

Jayalalithaa denied saying any new theme throughout her Nov twenty eight campaign for her party candidate.
